At Carbon Drawdown Initiative we've spent years asking one question: is the carbon we think we're removing from the atmosphere actually removed?
The answer is more complicated than most people in the field want to admit. Current measurement protocols do not cover all the ways in which weathering products could go, nor the influences this could have, and the gap between what ERW projects claim and what can be rigorously verified is significant.
On 16 June 2026, we will open our dataset to examine current blind spots in ERW. This will be done live and in public with the scientists who developed and/or analysed it.
